Yaaaaaaay, the time has arrived for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to be open and shopable to EVERYBODY [opens tonight at midnight PST]!

Think of it as an all skate, everyone skate. Life [and sales] are so much more fun when we can all participate, yes? For those of you who haven’t been able to shop the last week of life, well congratulations – you are officially much, much richer than I, but consider this your guide to shop the sale. There are literally thousands of items and while I ordered just a few items shy of that number,  I am hoping this compilation of hits and misses will help save you some time, see the items on a real person and also be able to hear my honest thoughts on sizing, quality, cut and all of that good stuff! If you have been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale already, well, you may have missed a thing or two, but have no fear – you have until August 6th to purchase the products at a major discount. After that, prices will go back up to normal.

You may remember when I showed you all here what I actually purchased, well now it’s time to tell you exactly how I feel about everything now that I have received it, tried it on, photographed it, begged my husband to let me keep it and all that good stuff. I will say, while I had a lot of things that I absolutely loved, I also had some things that I absolutely hated. Strap on your panties [is that a thing?] and get settled, we’ve got a lot to cover folks. Before we get this party started – remember the following things:

– Anything that you love and want for yourself, add to your wish list and check out once the sale is live! If it isn’t currently available, I heard a rumor that items will be restocked for the public sale so check back tomorrow!
– Remember that Nordstrom always offers free shipping and free returns! Because of this, I would recommend ordering two sizes on things you are unsure of, to make sure that you can get it at the sale price and return the one that doesn’t work!
– Some of the items I mention may currently be out of stock, but check back often for restocks!
– Keep in mind that while the sale lasts until 8/6, things go quick so don’t be like N*Sync and have to say “bye, bye, bye” to everything before it’s gone – shop early!

Leith Satin Off The Shoulder Top – THIS ONE SURPRISED ME! [ordered in purple starling in small, TRUE TO SIZE] I didn’t expect to like this one when I ordered it. Low and behold, I really do! I think it is so fun for a night out and love that the straps are adjustable! I really love this purple color and think the satin is a fun change in fabrics in my wardrobe.

Bp. Plaid Cotton Blend Shirt – ONE OF MY FAVORITES! [ordered in ivory egret schy plaid and red cordovan alice plaid in XS, SIZE DOWN] These plaid shirts were in the anniversary sale last year and it was one of my favorite purchases. They are extremely soft and great to throw on for casual days or nights out. Also great under jackets or vests, unbuttoned with a tee underneath, or tied around your waist! If it seems too long, tie it up like I did above and you are good to go!  Basically, the options are endless. Definitely size down!

Lush Roll Tab Sleeve Woven Shirt – A GREAT CLOSET ADDITION! [ordered in ivory and june bug in small, TRUE TO SIZE] I love these tab sleeve tops as I wear this tunic one all of the time. I like that this isn’t quite as long and could be layered this fall. The ivory has a hint of sheer, but not really which is great! You could wear to work with a cami underneath!

Halogen Scalloped Tank – THIS IS A FUN ONE! [ordered in red fiery in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] The back is even cuter! It’s hard to find great tanks for summer and with this one, I think I may just have. The material is a soft jersey-knit material! I am not wearing it with a tank which works well with the high waist jeans. If they were low rise jeans you may want a tank underneath for the back!

Lush Side Slit Tank – LOVE THIS BASIC! [ordered in moonstruck in small, TRUE TO SIZE] Speaking of great tanks for summer, I love finding basic tanks that I can layer under cardigans or wear on extremely hot days. For under $19, this is a great option! So soft, doesn’t have big arm holes and is perfectly flowy!

Vince Camuto Prasata Bootie – I WANT TO LOVE! [ordered in new foxy, true to size] Here’s the thing – I know I will keep these, however, they don’t fit amazingly well. They are a little loose around the ankles which is a bummer, but I love the detail on them so much along with the flat heel. I will put up with a little sliding around to look fashionable 😉

Lucky Brand Brielley Perforated Bootie – a great comfortable bootie! [ordered in brindle suede, true to size] I have a few other pairs of Lucky booties and they are some of the best! Super comfortable and hold up extremely well. Brindle goes with everything, so brindle it is! I like these and would totally recommend!

Via Spiga Gaze Block Heel Sandal – Super comfortable! [ordered in black suede, true to size] A great bootie with a heel, perfect for dressier occasions or black jeans. These are super comfortable and I love the little-perforated detail on them.

Vince Camuto Karinta Block Heel Bootie – that detail though! [ordered in greystone, true to size] I’m telling you, I can’t refuse anything that Vince Camuto puts out. It’s this horrible [also read: wonderful] addiction of mine. The detail on these is so fun and I love the color! While they are a 4-inch heel they are so comfortable! Love these for fall!

Caslon High/Low Tunic – UNDER $30 AND GREAT! [ordered in burgundy in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] It’s under $30 and it’s a tunic meaning I can wear it with leggings [yaaaay!] Available in a lot of colors!

 

Halogen Cashmere Off The Shoulder Sweater – THIS IS AMAZING! [ordered in black in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] Anytime you can get cashmere for under $100, you do it. Especially when it is a beautiful little off the shoulder number that you can wear with leggings or pants. This is so soft and wonderful! I love that it can be dressy or dressed down!

Gibson Tie Front Cozy Fleece Pullover – SO SOFT AND WONDERFUL! [ordered in grey in small, TRUE TO SIZE] You put the words fleece on anything and I am sold. I am loving this little tie front for the fun factor that it provides. Lots of fall colors available and a great basic!

Halogen Cotton Blend Off The Shoulder Sweater – DARE I SAY FAVORITE SWEATER OF THE SALE?![ordered in black and red fiery in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] Oh my word! Such a winner! The shoulders stay in place, the length is awesome, the fabric is so soft and it’s just all kinds of wonderful! I love the sexier look it has and is a great date night out look for this fall!

Bp. Boatneck Rib Knit Pullover – ALL OF THE YES! [ordered in pink mauve in XS, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN]  I love oversized sweaters a ton. This is no exception! The color makes it what it is I think, but oh so cozy and I love the off the one shoulder vibe it gives off!

Halogen Cashmere Dolman Sleeve Tunic Sweater – ANOTHER ABSOLUTE WIN! [ordered in olive dark in XS, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] I could see myself wearing this sweater the most this fall. It looks awesome with leggings or jeans with over the knee boots. It is absolutely so soft and the olive is awesome for fall!

BP. V-Neck Pullover – A GREAT UNDER $30 OPTION! [ordered in red ochre in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] This is great if you aren’t super tall as it does run a little short! It is quite soft and the ribbed material is great! This color has fall written all over it!

Mavi Jeans Adriana Skinny Ankle Jeans – [ordered true to size] Mavi jeans are my husband’s favorite, so I thought I would give these a try. I love that they are a 27 1/2 inch-inseam [perfect for ankle booties] and the wash is great! They are really soft and have good stretch to them.

Blanknyc Skinny Jeans – GREY JEANS MAKE ME HAPPY [ordered true to size] I love Blanknyc brand, like a heck of a lot. So comfortable, so soft and hold up extremely well. This gray pair for less than $60 was calling my name so I answered the call. These are a great wash of grey and versatile with so many colors!

Lysse High Waist Faux Leather Leggings – HI, I’M A SEX POT. [ordered in small, SIZE UP] These sexy little things get rave reviews so I had to try them. I love to have a pair of faux leather leggings on hand each winter and thought these are the ones. They have a great seam down the front and back and are high waisted which means I can eat alllll of the mac and cheese. These are lined meaning they will keep me warm during the winter months! I liked these more than I expected to!

Blanknyc Ripped Skinny Jeans – HI, BUY THESE. THE END. [ordered true to size, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] Again, blanknyc is my jam and so is this pair of distressed skinny jeans. A great staple to have on hand this fall. Under $60 awesome quality [so soft]! The distressing is the perfect amount with being too obnoxious. Yes, yes and yes.

Caslon Sweatshirt Dress – A DRESS OR PAJAMAS? SO COMFORTABLE! [ordered in heather grey in XS, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] The best dress in the sale in my opinion! I love sweatshirt dresses for summer and fall days. Perfect with sandals or sneakers, this is available in petite as well which I possibly should have done. I can almost guarantee you will love this!

 

Ugg Cozy Lounge Poncho – PONCHO OBSESSED [ordered in port heather in XS, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] UGG had a very similar poncho style in last year’s sale and it was one of the most worn items by me this past winter. It is fleece lined which makes it that much more amazing. It’s the perfect wine tasting and boots outfit. Then again everything is perfect when drinking wine in my opinion ????

Gibson Cold Shoulder Sweatshirt – My shoulders like to be cool 😉 [ordered in green gables in small, SIZE UP IF IN BETWEEN] This is a great basic sweatshirt for fall in my opinion! It does run a little short so if you are tall, this may not be for you! Available in a lot of colors [this green is great] and just a good basic.

 

Ugg Elvia Waterproof Tall Boot – I’VE NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED FOR A PAIR OF BOOTS! [ordered in chestnut leather, true to size] I am stupidly excited about these and I am not quite sure why since they have to do with snow. They are so warm and fuzzy on the inside and so adorable [in my opinion] on the outside! I know I will wear these frequently once the torture of Indiana weather hits!

Charles By Charles David Perfect Over The Knee Boot – Ooooo la la, so sexy! [ordered in black suede, true to size] These have sex appeal written all over them. The taller the boot, the better ???? I got these for dressier nights out and for under $100! They do work for wider calves as they do have a nice stretch to them [and no, they don’t fall down when wearing!] Love, love love these!

Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Robe – MY NEW EVERY DAY OUTFIT [ordered in light gray/white in 1] I have wanted a Barefoot Dreams robe for a year now, so I figured it was time to make the cuddliest investment of my life. If you haven’t owned anything Barefoot Dreams before, now is your time. The brand and products are hands down the softest things you will ever put on your body. I may never put clothes on again after wearing this…it’s wonderful!

Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Circle Cardigan – WELL, THIS IS A YES. [ordered in cocoa/pearl heather in XS/SM, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] Favorite cardigan ever. I own it now in black and absolutely love it in this cocoa color. It’s sometimes grey, sometimes light brown. This is the first thing I put on in the mornings, every.single.day.

Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Lite Coastal Hooded Cardigan – A NEW BAREFOOT FAVORITE! [ordered in carbon in XS/SM, SIZE DOWN IF IN BETWEEN] I mean, a Barefoot Dreams cardigan with a hood. Life just incredibly better. I know I will wear this with leggings more than I should probably admit this fall and winter.

Make + Model Gotta Have It V-Neck Tee – FAVORITE LOUNGE TEE! [ordered in small, TRUE TO SIZE] These are my favorite lounge and sleep tees. Incredibly soft and comfortable, they hold up well and for only $15, now is the time to stock up! I would order true to size – I could wear these in XS, but prefer a little bigger for sleep!

Make + Model Cozy Crew Raglan Sweatshirt and Make + Model Good Vibes Jogger Pants [ordered in blue stonewash in small] – I FEEL FUNNY IN A MATCHING PJ SET. [ordered in white day good day sunshine in small] I own a similar sweatshirt from this brand and oh my word, they are lightweight and the comfiest lounge sweatshirts out there. Another item I could live in. If there is one thing I know about Make + Model pants, it is that they are incredible. I own these and they are my favorite pair of sleep pants. Try them, you’ll never take them off again.

Halogen Asymmetrical Zip Boiled Wool Blend Coat  – AHHH, I THINK I LOVE IT! [ordered in grey dove in XS, SIZE DOWN] Favorite coat of the sale! I think this thing is absolutely adorable and at just a little over $100 seems like a great price for this wool blend. The asymmetrical cut adds just enough fun. I would definitely size down as the XS is a little big on me!

Maralyn & Me Quilted Hooded Jacket – I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS ONLY $60! [ordered in black in small, TRUE TO SIZE] I couldn’t believe this coat was under $60. This has to be the best bang for your buck in the sale this year! It’s incredibly warm as it is double lined and the fit is quite cute despite all of the puffy! If you live somewhere that gets cold, you may want to invest in this little number!

Sole Society Susan Faux Leather Tote – I LIKE MY BAGS BIG. [ordered in black] For under $50, this handbag looks like a million dollars. I was surprised how big this baby was when I received it, yet it’s not uncomfortably big. Large enough to hold a laptop and any other necessities! I love the gold zipper detail!

BP Stripe Faux Leather Tote – THE HIDDEN GEM OF THE SALE! 

Tell me this $35 tote isn’t adorable. Another team favorite, I love this thing! The color combo is awesome [also available in another option] and holds plenty! I love that it comes with a little zipper clutch as well!

Chelsea28 Kaylee Embellished Faux Leather Tote – YUP, I LOVE IT MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD. [ordered in burgundy stem] I keep eyeing similar perforated totes so when I saw this was in the sale, I had to do it. I love the burgundy color for fall and the clutch that comes with it kinda makes it feel like you are getting two for the price of one. Okay fine, if I have to.

Vince Camuto Kirie Suede & Leather Crossbody Saddle Bag – VINCE, YOU DO NO WRONG. [ordered in foxy matte] This crossbody bag is my favorite from the sale. The detail reminds of the mini Chloe bags but at a lot better price. Once you start wearing crossbody purses it’s hard to want to wear anything but because hello, two hands! This is plenty big to hold everything you would need when using it and I love the mix of suede and leather!

BP Dual Plaid Triangle Scarf [ordered in navy/ivory] – FAVORITE SCARF OF THE SALE! Oh, how I love this scarf. If you can get it for $15, do it! It literally goes with everything in the most delicious fall way.

Bp. Multi Stripe Scarf [ordered in tan multi] – OKAY FINE, ANOTHER SCARF. Another great scarf option at $15! This one you can wear a multiple number of ways and I love the color combo! Yes, yes and yes!

BP Multicolor Grid Square Scarf [ordered in ivory multi] – OH WAIT, AND ANOTHER. This was probably my least favorite out of the three, but I do love that this is a great spring option! The colors aren’t your traditional fall scarf colors which makes it unique. This one is LARGE as it is a blanket scarf, but it is quite soft and cuddly.

Zella Layer Me Pullover – I JUST CAN’T DECIDE. [ordered in grey urban stripe in small, SIZE UP IF IN BETWEEN] Here’s the thing – I love Zella. But with this one, I just didn’t know about the fit. It is tighter in the arms and a little snug around the waist. I love how it feels [so super comfortable and soft] but again, not sure what I think. Perfect for layering under a vest though. Gosh, what do I do people?!

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE MISSES

Ugg Vista Slip-On Flat – TOO FLIMSY MAYBE?[ordered in port suede, true to size] I wanted to love these, but everytime I put them on I just couldn’t find myself getting into them. They are super lightweight, but almost too lightweight – like they need a little something more to them maybe?

Vince Camuto Bolina Over The Knee Boot – I KNOW, I CAN’T BELIEVE I AM SAYING NO TO VINCE EITHER. [ordered true to size] The fit and look on these is great, the only problem was that I felt like they were a little stiff for my liking. I don’t know if it’s the leather and I’m more of a suede girl or what, but when I put them on they didn’t wow me. I will stick with the Born boots and wait patiently for the other pair of Vince Camuto Over the Knee boots to arrive!

Halogen Scalloped Shift Dress – YIKES, NO THANK YOU. [ordered in green gables in XS, SIZE DOWN] I ordered this thing in an XS and it is still big. I think just the overall shape of it doesn’t do it for me. I wanted to love it, but sorry dress – it’s not going to work out between you and I.

Free People Split Back Turtleneck – GREAT IN THEORY, NOT IN FIT.  [ordered in red in XS, TRUE TO SIZE] This doesn’t look bad in photos, however, I didn’t love this one on really at all. Maybe I didn’t order the right size, but whatever the case it just didn’t seem that great. The open back also makes me confused as to whether I need a tank underneath or what. Unfortunately, going back!

Zella Don’t Sweat It Sweater – IS IT A MISS? AHHH, I DON’T KNOW. [ordered in grey urban heather in small, SIZE UP IF IN BETWEEN] I was most excited for this one, but unfortunately when I put it on I didn’t find it to be as magical as I do most Zella pieces. Maybe because it isn’t the soft fabric I am used to out of this brand, but whatever the case it was just “okay”. I feel like with Zella there are enough fab pieces so the need to settle is not there.

Blanknyc Life Changer Moto Jacket – STRICTLY NOT MY STYLE, OTHERWISE GREAT JACKET![ordered in black in small, TRUE TO SIZE] Here’s the thing, it’s a great jacket, it’s just not a great jacket for me I don’t think. A little too edgy maybe? It fits great and feels great, but again I wasn’t digging it. Back you go jacket, back you go!
