Our Trip To Nashville + What To Wear To Country Concerts!

June 14, 2017

Last weekend Shawn and I ventured off to Nashville, TN for our 3rd, 4th or 5th [who’s counting?!] trip to CMA Fest. For those of you who don’t do abbreviations very well, that stands for Country Music Association Festival. Translation – 4 days of nonstop country music with every artist under the sun playing both day and night. Because we have been several times before and have learned how exhausting it can be to do both the day concerts along with the main acts at night, we decided to take a less exhausting route this go around. This makes for a much happier Erin and Shawn. It also makes for a few days poolside with a Cerveza in hand.

Let’s walk through the weekend quickly shall we? I’ll be covering where we stayed, what we ate [obviously the most important part], what I wore while there along with a ton of other options at the bottom of the post. Several of you have been asking for outfit inspo when it comes to summer concerts so have no fear, I’ve gotcha covered you little country queens!
Alright, first things first — we ventured off with four of our other friends (2 sets of couples) and we all stayed in different areas/hotels, as it turns out booking a room is quite expensive and almost impossible during CMA Fest. This left us a little scattered, but still turned out perfectly! We stayed at The Holiday Inn Express Vanderbilt, mostly because we had a few free nights to use up so it made the most sense. Great location, don’t love the hotel. One of our friends stayed at The Courtyard by Marriott Green Hills, which we have stayed before and loved. The location is awesome [right next door to a fabulous mall and not far from downtown] and the hotel is newer and nice! Totally recommend! This is where we spent our pool days! The other couple planted their roots in Franklin for the weekend which they totally loved as well!
Thursday we left the hotel around 9 am and got back to our room around 2 am, which you could say kinda makes for a long day. It was on this day that we decided to join the masses downtown, hit up the free concerts on the riverfront, partake in a little bar hopping, boot buying, enjoyed an amazing lunch at The Southern, and feasted our faces off with some Italian food at Mafiaoza’s for dinner. The first night of the main acts consisted of Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and more. Here’s a few pics from that fun-filled day…
One of my favorite parts of the trip was meeting some of YOU! It makes this whole blogging thing so much for fulfilling when you get to meet the readers face to face so thank you for saying hello! And I gotta say, Y’all are some cute little ladies!
For the day activities, this was the outfit I went with. You know what they say, gingham makes the world go round [or maybe I just say that, but regardless it’s true] —

When changing for our evening shenanigans I settled on the most comfortable lightweight [yet not sheer] dress and sandals. If there is one thing you need to keep in mind for concerts it’s comfortable shoes. Screw the heels or wedges, flats all the way baby! The first evening was quite cool so the jacket was a must! This is my favorite denim jacket just FYI – I’ve owned it for years and it gets softer with each wash!

The next day we found ourselves at a mall because my beloved husband forgot to pack his shirts. It turns out when you lay out your clothes the night before leaving and decide to hang them all together in your closet for you to grab the next day, you will forget and wind up in another state with nothing but tees to sleep in. Needless to say, he scored a few new pieces because of this [well played]. The rest of the day was spent poolside which is where I would prefer to be alllllll of the time. This maxi dress took me from the mall to the pool and Whole Foods in between.

For dinner, all six of us met up at one of my favorites, Pinewood Social. If you go to Nashville go to Pinewood Social! Also, the burger – amazing.

Another cooler evening meant more jeans and a longer sleeve top. Whenever you can go to Nashville in June and not have it be hot and miserable I highly encourage going. The weather was the best it has ever been!

my friiiiiiends – also, super cute how the boys are ombre.
Saturday was our last day there so once again, we saddled up at the pool with all of the Chipotle possible along with the cutest beer on the planet.

Back out for another night of dinner [this time at Saint Anejo] and more concerts – Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Kelsea Ballerini and the list goes on! I was lucky enough to meet a few more of you! I turned to this vibrant green dress to take in the last night out on the town along with the most comfortable sandals to ensure I could bop around in my spot without a problem!

Back home on Sunday and still tired. These dogs think it’s fun to wake up in the 5:00 hour every morning so that’s awesome #not. To wrap up the post I have a few more outfits that I’ve worn recently to other concerts that you may want to consider if you’ve got somewhere you need be! Cheers to singing your hearts out while looking darn cute doing so!
