How To Throw A Bachelor Finale Party // The Necessities

Monday is most likely going to be the biggest night of my life. You think I am being dramatic, but really I am just being honest. It's not every day you have the best bachelor in all of bachelor history [bless you Ben Higgins] choosing between the TWO women that he is madly in love with. Have I mentioned that Ben grew up a mere 30 minutes away from me yet? No, of course I'm not the tiniest bit mad that we didn't meet in our younger years, duh. With the finale upon us I have been in full out prep mode for the finale viewing party that my girlfriends and I are having. Obviously I have been staying up at night battling between Lauren and JoJo because who wouldn't? Oh right, those with a life. Regardless, I think I have determined that it has to be Lauren right? Right. THE MAN CRIED WHEN TALKING ABOUT HER. I think the only time Shawn has cried when talking about me was after he saw my credit card statement and it wasn't necessarily a good cry if you know what I mean.

Alright, so back to the big finale party that you are either hopefully hosting or attending - lets get down to the basics of what you're going to need.

For starters - food. And not just any food, but the fancy kind that you know all of the females are getting to eat every day in their huge bachelor mansion. Not that any of them actually eat it but you know, we do. And by "we" I mean all of those who aren't in a bikini on national television week after week. Pretty sure that includes all of us. Because you and your girlfriends are going to be glued head first to the TV, you don't want anything difficult to eat. Stick to the finger foods such as a fabulous meat and cheese tray complete with nuts, fruits, breads and the like.

Because it's a very emotional show chocolate is obviously going to be necessary. If you are anything like me [I'm sorry] you don't want to take the time to make all of those glamorous little treats that will get devoured in minutes so may I suggest hitting up a local bake shop and spending the $15 on all of the chocolate..

Next up [and the most important item on the list] - wine. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to watch this show without a glass of red or white in your hand so don't break the rules people, bottoms up. When it comes to what to drink I try not to discriminate and I recommend you don't either so both red and white it is. From my own personal taste testing experiences, I have found Gloria Ferrer to have some of the best tasting wines on the market. Their 400 gold medals back me up on that statement. I may also be partial to Gloria Ferrer as we were born in the same year, 1986 - except they were born in Spain and currently house in California and then here I am in Indiana. Clearly I drew the short straw. I opted for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as the wines of choice as they are very distinct in their flavors - the Pinot more earthy and perfect with cheeses while the Chardonnay is full of peach and pair flavor.

Last but not least, the decorations or extra touches. What would a bachelor viewing party be without roses? No party at all, that's what. To really make it personal, I printed out pictures of Ben himself to cut out and use as coasters. Now that's a face you hate to cover, am I right ladies?

And there you have it - time to sit back, sweat, cry, "awwwww", and anything else that may happen to you during the finale. Happy bachelorin' it up.

  1. Great post! I agree that Lauren should probably win, since they seem just so dang naturally compatible. I have a soft spot for Jojo though. I wrote that I love her because she reminds me of a girl in college that would be mad chill to go out with and would probably hold your hand while you cry and cook you drunk pasta at 3AM on a weekend. I dunno, I just feel that. I PRAY she is the next Bachelorette and not Caila who seems so fake and whispery and I can't look at her perfect hair on national TV one more second!

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
