One thing that I continually ask for in my fixes are items for work – this past year I’ve tried to be a little more intentional about dressing a little more sharp and professional while outside the home as opposed to baggy khakis and sweaters with holes in them like I used to do [true story]. This pencil skirt is perfection for not just work but also for an evening out – the lace makes it a romantic while the leather trimmed waist puts a little edge to it. I’m not sure if I would pair it with this top again or not but a basic black top will do just fine as well. Regardless, pencil skirts are always a yes.
2. RD Style – Ridda Mixed Material Knit Top – Small – Kept
While this shirt did confuse my husband greatly “is it a crop top?! I don’t get it?!” I love it. Really anything maroon I’m digging these days. I also love that it’s an easy top to just throw on with a pair of black pants and be ready to head out the door! The cut on the side makes it a little flattering and the exposed zipper in the back makes my eyes heart-like. Keeper!
3. Andrew Marc – Loksa Down Puffer Coat – Small – Kept
I told Layla [my stylist] that I wanted a cute winter coat in this fix and she delivered. You may remember last year when I received a similar puffer coat in olive and it has been one of my favorite coats ever owned. I love how it’s not super bulky and has a great shape to it while keeping me extra warm. I couldn’t love this coat more and can’t wait for the first snow so that I can run around outside pretending to be a snowflake in this baby.
4. Market & Spruce – Colibri Plaid Printed Tab-Sleeve Shirt – Small – Kept
It’s plaid, it’s a great cut, it’s easy to wear – it’s a yes. I’ll either wear this alone or under a vest as it continues to get colder. Maybe next time I’ll actually get the buttons right [oops!]
5. Blank NYC – Kaprun Faux Shearling Jacket – Small – Returned
And last but not least, this jacket. While I had high hopes for it when I pulled it out of the box, I felt like it just didn’t work on. It looked and felt a little big and while I love receiving Stitch Fix boxes, I don’t want to look like a box. It was so comfortable and warm but I couldn’t justify keeping it so back it goes!
And that completes my 41st fix! Wanna give Stitch Fix a try for yourself [hint: now is the perfect time to add “stitch fix gift card” to your Christmas list or buy one for somebody on your list!] If you do, let me know how it goes! I always love hearing from readers who give it a go!
What’s your favorite item from this month’s fix?
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
