Tastes Of Summer - Building Your Own Ice Cream Bar

It's no secret by now that this Summer I have been enjoying all things sweet. This is typically not my norm as salt and I get along better than macaroni and cheese. We all know how obsessed I am with chips but it's dawned on me recently that a lot of why I think I love them so much is because of the crunch. My mouth likes to be entertained I guess you could say. When I saw that M&M’S® Crispy were back on store shelves (it had been TEN years people since these babies were available, ten long strenuous hard years...) I knew I needed to put them to good use. That's when I realized hello, perfect ice cream toppings. Nothing like taking my love for sweet and pairing it with my need for crunch.

In preparation for guests this weekend I threw together a little "build your own ice cream bar". Everybody loves a little something different when it comes to ice cream toppings so I figured - heck, give em' a choice and let em' be happy. And so that's what I did...

Vanilla and chocolate ice cream, waffle bowls, fruit, nuts, M&M’S® Crispy, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate and peanut butter syrup and we were set! To "lighten" things up a bit I did use frozen yogurt for the ice cream choices and made sure all of the toppings weren't too heavy. Who knew that M&M’S® Crispy were only 180 calories per singles pack?! Yes please. I love the chocolate coated airy rice puff center that's crispy and crunchy that they add to my already sweet treat.

What would you add to your ice cream bar?

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
