Do Good Things Really Have To Come To An End?

July 6, 2015

By:

Erin Schrader

I get that I should just be full of gratitude for the past few days – the days full of no work, all play, red white and blue everything, but instead I woke up this morning 50 shades of sad that it’s all over with. That could also be my period speaking but still. Why must good things always come to an end!? I’m referring back to the holiday weekend right now and not my period just to clear any confusion. Periods have never been deemed good [well outside of keeping babies at bay] and I always welcome their end.

And now my 4th of July recap has turned into a post on womens menstruation cycles….

Back to what I was saying. The past few days have been nothing short of perfect [but seriously, I’m not even trying to play that role of rainbows and unicorns and everything sparkles type of blogger right now]. We started the holiday weekend off by traveling a few hours South to Indianapolis to hear the incredibly talented Ed Sheeran in concert. You know when you are expecting a full band to run out on stage at the beginning of the show but rather a skinny little 24 year old red head from England just appears all by himself and plays for hours completely alone for thousands and thousands of us? Yeah, that. I think the teenage girl behind me said it best by saying “being stabbed in the stomach would be less painful than this” referring to the concert being over. It was one of those you just never wanted to end. I kept saying to Shawn “I feel like I’m in a trance or on drugs or something…it’s just so mesmerizing”. I think he thought I was inhaling the air around us too much.

Moving onward to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – those three days were basically on repeat. Wake up, go out on the boat, eat, drink, go out on the boat again, tear around on the jet ski for awhile, eat some more, and eventually go to bed. Definitely days that I could get more used to. We sprinkled in hosting friends and family along with hot dog roasts, watching our first ever river parade, made patriotic rice krispy treats two days in a row [it’s America! we can!], hanging shutters, naps and fireworks. I also sprinkled in key lime pie on several occasions because well, key lime pie.

In other news – I am currently running a 50% off ad sale [WHAT!!!] with the code FREEDOM. Be sure to take advantage now before I decide to drop that promo code like its hot. Click here to make that magic happen. Another side note, Love, Yellow will be making its July appearance on the blog next Monday so stay tuned for that.

Alright, well I believe that wraps it all up. Hope you all had a fun filled fourth that has also left you in a pile of tears and frustration knowing we have 363 days until we celebrate again. Cheers to positivity!

ps. Can I just let it be known that I am three episodes behind on The Bachelorette right now which in TV time is freaking eternity. Every day that passes I say “I’m going to dedicate today to getting caught up” and then I realize that spending six hours in front of the TV isn’t probably going to happen [glaring at you work]. Nobody tell me what happens. I’m sure by 2017 I’ll be caught up.
