Do Good Things Really Have To Come To An End?

I get that I should just be full of gratitude for the past few days - the days full of no work, all play, red white and blue everything, but instead I woke up this morning 50 shades of sad that it's all over with. That could also be my period speaking but still. Why must good things always come to an end!? I'm referring back to the holiday weekend right now and not my period just to clear any confusion. Periods have never been deemed good [well outside of keeping babies at bay] and I always welcome their end.

And now my 4th of July recap has turned into a post on womens menstruation cycles....

Back to what I was saying. The past few days have been nothing short of perfect [but seriously, I'm not even trying to play that role of rainbows and unicorns and everything sparkles type of blogger right now]. We started the holiday weekend off by traveling a few hours South to Indianapolis to hear the incredibly talented Ed Sheeran in concert. You know when you are expecting a full band to run out on stage at the beginning of the show but rather a skinny little 24 year old red head from England just appears all by himself and plays for hours completely alone for thousands and thousands of us? Yeah, that. I think the teenage girl behind me said it best by saying "being stabbed in the stomach would be less painful than this" referring to the concert being over. It was one of those you just never wanted to end. I kept saying to Shawn "I feel like I'm in a trance or on drugs or something...it's just so mesmerizing". I think he thought I was inhaling the air around us too much.

Moving onward to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - those three days were basically on repeat. Wake up, go out on the boat, eat, drink, go out on the boat again, tear around on the jet ski for awhile, eat some more, and eventually go to bed. Definitely days that I could get more used to. We sprinkled in hosting friends and family along with hot dog roasts, watching our first ever river parade, made patriotic rice krispy treats two days in a row [it's America! we can!], hanging shutters, naps and fireworks. I also sprinkled in key lime pie on several occasions because well, key lime pie.

In other news - I am currently running a 50% off ad sale [WHAT!!!] with the code FREEDOM. Be sure to take advantage now before I decide to drop that promo code like its hot. Click here to make that magic happen. Another side note, Love, Yellow will be making its July appearance on the blog next Monday so stay tuned for that.

Alright, well I believe that wraps it all up. Hope you all had a fun filled fourth that has also left you in a pile of tears and frustration knowing we have 363 days until we celebrate again. Cheers to positivity!

ps. Can I just let it be known that I am three episodes behind on The Bachelorette right now which in TV time is freaking eternity. Every day that passes I say "I'm going to dedicate today to getting caught up" and then I realize that spending six hours in front of the TV isn't probably going to happen [glaring at you work]. Nobody tell me what happens. I'm sure by 2017 I'll be caught up.

  1. Sounds like such a fun weekend!! & what a great way to spend the 4th in your new house!! & just fast forward through some parts of The Bachelorette... That's what I've done & I'm up-to-date on all the important stuff! Lol

  2. Those pictures look like y'all had a blast! I so understand the feeling you were explaining above, I get it every August when my husband goes back to work and I know I won't be seeing him for another 10 months!

A lot of those Bachelorette episodes can just be fast forward....it's basically only about two of the guys now anyway.

  3. Your weekend sounds so great!! Spending it with friends and family is seriously the best! My weekend was a short, one-day event on Saturday since restaurants don't close on holidays!

  4. Looks like a fabulous weekend!!! I must have your sunglasses! Where are they from?

  5. I have really enjoyed watching you remodel your home! And I am glad you had such a fun weekend! Fun family! Susan

  6. How fun! Looks like you had a blast on your holiday. Love Ed Sheeran!

  7. I totally understand what you mean about Ed Sheeran. The first time I heard of him/saw him perform was at a Taylor Swift concert (which I thought was interesting given that I was one of the oldest people there), but I totally felt like I was on drugs...and was totally okay with it. Love him!

  8. Looks like a great weekend! Makes me want to buy a boat!

  9. My hubby and I just saw Ed Sheeran a few weeks ago and I was giddy like a school girl! Such a great concert, glad I'm not the only one who was rockin' it with the teenage girls :)

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
