Staying Pure...In The Bedroom And Beyond.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Holmes® Smart Air Purifier. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so excited to share with you all a fabulous new piece of technology we have been using in our home lately. You see, Shawn and I are allergy sufferers. I believe this to be true with every other Indiana resident as most people I talk to have runny noses, coughs, or watery eyes. We are a good looking bunch in this great state ;) Because Spring is the most awful time of year for us allergy prone folk, we will try anything to relieve our pains. Fortunately, we got our hands on a Holmes® Smart Air Purifier and our home [and sinuses] have never felt better.

I'm going to be honest and say I had absolutely no idea what an air purifier was before finding this product. Before I type out all sorts of fun facts about what this is and why you need one [because lets face it, you do] watch this short little video clip where I try to not be the Queen of awkward when discussing this fabulous product.

Alright so good, we survived. As you heard, the true HEPA air filters in this bad boy kills 99.97% of airborn allergens including pollen, dust, dust mite debris, mold spre, pet dander, and smoke/odor. I know I have mentioned on here before how much of a stickler I am for a good smelling home and finally, I can breathe a deep sigh of relief knowing that my house is so fresh and so clean clean.

As I also mentioned, not only is the purifier awesome for those of you who suffer from allergies, asthma, pet owners, or families with young children  - it is also great for you techy people. Holmes has partnered with WeMo to allow you to have full control over the quality of your air no matter where you are. With any smart device you can connect to the free WeMo app and turn on/off your air purifier, control the settings, check your air quality and find out if you are in need of any replacement filters.

WeMo is encouraging "WeMoments" which is the feeling of relief in being able to adjust your technology to better your life. Do you know how great it is being notified of when the air quality in our home isn't good and in the comfort of wherever I may be I can change that? All of the heart eyes right there.

Because I truly love this product so much and because Holmes wants more of you to be able to experience pure air, we are giving away one Holmes® Smart Air Purifier to one of you! [lucky!] All you have to do is leave a comment sharing your own "WeMoment" below. The giveaway winner will be selected on May 29th - winner must be 18 years of age and a US resident. Good luck! I'm off to bask in the glow of our purified bedroom.

  1. My 3 year old suffers in the Spring with his allergies. Because his allergies are so bad we have to keep our house locked up tight, he has to limit his time spent outdoors & must take medication daily. Because of his age we can't do much else and as a parent I feel helpless. I'd love to have this product to provide him some relief. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

  2. Erin, I love your blog, but it's very hard to comment. I had a whole thing typed out, went to hit "publish" and it made me choose an account. I picked google id because I don't have any of the others. When I hit publish again, it took me to my google account where I had to sign in (which is fine), but then when it came back to your comments, my comment was gone and it was blank. However, it won't let me get to sign in screen without typing something in the comments. So I had to type 1 letter, sign in, then come back and type this up. Am I doing something wrong? And please give an example of a "wemoment" so that I can enter the giveaway. You crack me up on a daily basis and I love your blog/style/life, so I just wanted to let you know the trouble I'm having commenting (and I comment on other blogs, so I promise I'm not new to this....lol).

  3. This sounds amazing! We are allergy sufferers in our house also and we have an inside dog and cat. So talk about a hot mess, we have a humidifier for night time but this would be great for the over all inside of our home. I would love to win this and help take care of those runny nose, itchy eyes, and sore throats!

  4. This is Great! my WeMoment would have to be knowing that despite all the crazy tree pollen around us, coating our cars and lungs, along with my newly-moved-in kitty making my husband's allergies insane, that we can still live happily and sneeze-free!

    Thanks for this offer!! <3 <3 <3

  5. Pick me! I am allergic to dogs and we have two :)

  6. Our two dogs are constantly filling the house with fur, dirt, dander and other allergens. As much as I vacuum, this post made me realize that I have to clean the air! I'm excited to try out this air purifier!

  7. Oh man, Erin!
    1. Love your video -- the first time I've heard your voice (always so strange to hear my favorite bloggers speak for the first time!)
    2. I am getting married and moving into a home with cats! -- An air purifier would be AMAZING. I have never had indoor pets, so it is going to be a little bit of an adjustment to the dander.
Give me all the clean/fresh smelling air, please!!!! :)

  8. Spring time is always difficult for us! My boyfriend and I both have allergies, and I always seem to be sneezing year-round. This would be super helpful with the dog in the house, too! I hate living on allergy pills all the time :(

  9. Springtime for my son is the worst time of the year. My WeMoment would be knowing that I could give him another way of being able to breathe that wasn't something medicated. Between allergy meds and eyedrops nothing seems to help much. If we had the Holmes Smart Air Purifier I could be alerted at work that the air quality wasn't great at home and could adjust before he even got home!

  10. Wow thanks for the give away! I would love for my home to have that clean clean smell too! We have 2 dogs inside and I'm sure it would help our sinus issues too!

  11. My WeMoment would definitely be being able to get relief for my husband on his awful allergies just from my phone! How wonderful would that be. Within the past two weeks he finally went to an allergist for the dreaded poke test. His reactions were so bad they were bringing everyone in the office to come in and see! Poor guy, 31 years and just now getting his allergies in check.

  12. I would LOVE to win an air purifier! I'm a person who's allergic to cats and I just happen to live with one (my husband's cat.) I'm not so much a cat person and having no allergens floating in the air would make her oh so much easier to live with! My husband and I also suffer from season allergies and it seems like in MN that it's always allergy season!

Any who, I love your blog!

  13. I have been really curious about getting one of these for our house. We have allergies, and I'm always paranoid that with pets, our house smells bad. Seems like it's not too expensive for a decent investments.

  14. Hi! I'm so excited to hear about this air purifier! I live in Bakersfield California, the city credited with "THE Worst Air Quality in America" the worst, in all of America... gross... I also am super lucky to be allergic to everything and seasonal allergies don't exist here, we are also a huge Agricultural city so blooms year round! Aka I'm on allergy meds daily, BUT when pregnant that's a no no! I've been nervous about what can I do once I'm pregnant again, I will surely die of sneezing! But now hearing about the Holmes Smart Air Purifier I feel like I found IT, the magic solution! The way to breath year round, have a clean air home for my family and to be allergy medication free while pregnant! Yippy! I sure hope I can be the lucky winner!

  15. This has been the worst spring as far as allergies go - I cant believe I was actually wishing for rain to wash away this pollen! We would love this new air purifier for our home :)

  16. I should have been on this months ago! I have 3 lil dudes, a messy hubby and (my buddy) a large fur-baby. This could be an invaluable tool for our babies with allergies… and visitors who don't like our "boy smelling" home :)

  17. We would be super excited to experience an air purifier! Both myself and my husband have awful allergies this time of year, and our little girl has recently began as well. It would be so great to be able to provide her (and us) some relief in her own home from those nasty allergens. In addition, our home was a foreclosure which we bought last summer and flipped. The previous owners had 7 dogs and 4 cats (yes, you read that correctly). We've done a pretty good job of getting rid of the smell but every once in a while my pregnant nose catches a whiff of dog pee and all my "smelly home" insecurities come flooding back! It would be a huge relief to not even give it a second thought! Thanks for the opportunity!

  18. I'm all about trying to have cleaner air, naturally. This would be amazing to keep our air fresh with two big dogs.

  19. We have little dogs who love to get up all over our furniture. I am totally afraid of what's in the air in our home and on our couches because of them! This would help us breathe easier, and our "Wemoment" would be being able to invite guests over without all the worry and knowing they can breathe easy!

  22. My WeMo moment when I have had the happiest time & lived in the moment; was sharing some outdoor fun with my kids & staying worry free, where all the rest of the world seemed to pause just so I could really enjoy my kids without the everyday chaos.

  23. My WeMoment (until I get ahold of one of those awesome purifiers!) would be being able to work from home using virtual desktop technology! It's so nice to know I can access my work anywhere, and working from home would be even better once I knew the air was clean and fresh using the Smart Air Purifier :)

  24. I am all about having the best air possible. I just bought a dehumidifier and I am obsessed. It would be even more awesome to be able to have clean air as well. All of my family members are allergy sufferers and being able to control the air quality with my phone would be even more awesome!

    1. Air purifiers and dehumidifiers are all helpful units. Our lives indoors amount to about 80% of our daly lives and 100% with home bound wives, children and seniors. What they are breathing is unbelievable. Hopefully www.facebook.com/indoorhealth helps you more informed.

  25. My WeMoment that I would love to have is using the air purifier in the home we will begin renovating in a few weeks. My husband and I have allergies and we have a newborn.

  26. AIR PURIFIERS are a must in any home or office today. ABSOLUTELY. Indoor air pollution that I have discussed in www.facebook.com/qualityindoorair is about the visible dust and invisible air borne particulates, fumes, gases and vapours off indoor machines and equipments and above all the volume of toxins we have brought into our homes in the form of aerosols and cleaning agents. My life and experience within homes with families over the last 12 years has been teaching people how to waterwash indoor air WHOLESOME like nature does outdoor air with mist.dew and rain. This process being duplicated indoors rids dust, pollen, particulates and even the gases. In addition, allergens on the mattresses and cushions can also be water washed and removed...............without gettning anything wet. www.facebook.com/indoorhelath has plenty of postings.
