I know this is going to come as a shock, but I am a fan of make-up. Crazy because I always look completely au natural with nothing but a little mascara and lip gloss on, I know ;)
That would be a joke. It is obvious I enjoy the full range of make-up products. I have proof to back up this statement below, be prepared. Truly, you do want to be prepared for the sight you are about to see. My husband kindly asked "are you sure you need to use a before picture?!" I love how they always tell you that they like you better without make-up on and then when you go to publish a photo without any on for the internet to see they question your judgment and advise you to think better about the situation. I think his backing to that statement was something to the extent of "well, it's just that they are used to seeing you with make-up on.."
Unfortunately he won't be getting any tonight.
My biggest complaint that I have always had about my skin was that it looked dull to me (especially sans make-up). I wanted the pregnancy glow without being pregnant. Thankfully with this four step program I think I found it, saving myself a lot of morning sickness and money.
according to this photo I don't actually have eyelashes
I first wash my face with the deep exfoliating wash which is grainy and does an amazing job of scrubbing off all of my impurities leaving my skin softer than well, soft. After I'm out of the shower I rub a little brightening toner all over, then go right into step 3 with is a brightening serum (which holy cow, I thought my skin was soft before...), and then top it all off with the REVERSE SPF 50 moisturizer.
I had heard a lot about the Rodan+Fields products and had actually tried one before (which I loved) but never took the leap into the full skin care regimen. I can't imagine switching to anything else now. My skin has never felt or looked better in my personal opinion. It really does seem to have more of a glow to it and the sun spots/discoloration I have had in the past have seemed to fade. I also feel like my make-up has never went on better....
eyelashes! they exist!
To figure out which system was best for me I took the online solution tool and from there I was good to go. I was confident knowing that I had 60 days to try the product and see if I liked it or not due to their awesome 60 day guarantee (not happy with the results? send it all back and receive a 100% refund)!
If you are interested in trying any R+F products, feel free to email my girl firstname.lastname@example.org and she will help you out. They do offer a preferred customer program which will get you 10% off all products and free shipping so make sure to ask about that. Also, stay tuned to the end of the post to enter in a giveaway for a TON of free product.
Now, on to the make-up. I thought it would be fun to share you all of my favorite products that I wear on a daily basis. I am so boring when it comes to my routine as I never (ever) switch it up.
Lets start with the basics -- concealer and foundation.
I always first use Mary Kay's concealer under my eyes and anywhere I need to cover a problem area (ie: zits). From there I use Mary Kay's medium coverage foundation all over my face. After I let it sit for a minute or so, I top it off with Bare Minerals Original SPF foundation. Last but not least, I dust a little Bare Minerals Warmth over my forehead, nose, and cheeks. The bronzer can sometimes be a little overbearing so you have to be careful with how much you get on your brush.
Next up we have the cheeks - I have recently been using Sephora's duo blush in Rose emotion and love it. It's the perfect amount of pink/peach!
After I have all of the basics done, I move to my favorite part, eyes. Before putting anything on my eyes, I use Mary Kay's eye primer. This makes the color stand out better and last longer. I also use an eyelash curler repeatedly to give a little "oomph" to those eyelashes desperately in need.
As far as eye color goes, I use all Mary Kay eye shadows. I first start with a light color (Crystalline) and put it over my entire lid. From there I take the purple (Iris) and place it right on the bone between my lid and lashes. Last but not least, I place coal in the outer corners and crease of my eyelid. This helps make them pop. As far as liner goes, Mary Kay's Deep Brown eyeliner has been my go-to for years. I only line my bottom lash line and always go from outward in. This eyeliner never smears and lasts all day. To set the eyeliner I take my Coal eye shadow and run it over the liner. To make my eyes shine a little, I place the light color in the inner corner of my lid on the bottom.
For my lashes, I always first do a coat or two of CoverGirl's Professional Super Thick Lash mascara on both the top and bottom lashes. I think it helps a ton to do both sides of your upper lashes, so cover those babies from all sides! To really make my eyes pop, I use Younique's Fiber Lash Mascara (seriously obsessed). I started using this last year and can't quit it. Once you go fiber, you'll never go back.
The very last step for me is lip gloss which in my case is always Mary Kay's Berry Sparkle.
And that concludes all of my favorite skin care and make-up products, forever and ever, amen.
Thank God for all of the above.
