Today is Galentines Day friends and I'm here to celebrate.
Tonight a few of us ladies are heading out on the town to watch 50 Shades of Grey (the floodgates of comments about my decision to see the movie may open now - more on that later perhaps), get a drink, and then drown ourselves in the goodness of Skinny Cow blissful truffle candy bars (milk or dark chocolate, the choice is yours), creamy iced coffee (available in Vanilla Latte, Mocha Latte & Creamy Cappuccino), and top it all off with chocolate dipped ice cream bars (Vanilla Almond Crunch, Double Caramel Swirl and Triple Chocolate Ripple).
I recently discovered these treats and oh my goodness, I am hooked. These chocolate bars are so light and fluffy - yet so full of chocolate. I took a bite, stopped, and then stared at the package thinking "BUT HOW. HOW DID THEY DO THIS?"
Speaking of Skinny Cow products -- they recently conducted a survey about Valentine's Day and the results kinda surprised me.
o 62% of women think Valentine’s Day isn’t that big of a deal
o 74% think there should be a holiday just for celebrating friendships (enter GALentine’s Day!)
o 1 in 3 women say their “first love” was a female friend
o 71% say their best girlfriend understands them better than anyone.
o Compared to significant others, 6 in 10 women say girlfriends are also better at:
▪ Being honest
▪ Not judging
o Stress kills. And studies show that bonding with female friends releases neurotransmitters that combat stress — helping you live a longer, happier life.
o After hanging out with girlfriends:
▪ 67% feel less stressed
▪ 73% feel happier
o Nearly 7 in 10 women don’t see their best friends as often as they’d like because they’re long distance.
Basically what it is getting at is Galentines Day is the new Valentines Day. Or at least that was my take away ;)
Cheers to spending today and tomorrow with the ones we love most -- how are you choosing to celebrate Galentines Day?
This post was compensated by Skinny Cow however all of the opinions stated are my own.
