Before And After: Half Bath

In staying on trend with this week's blog post topics, I figured I would present to you another before and after post from the house. It's the second room we have "completely finished" and albeit it's the smallest room in the house, it's a success none the less. I understand that a half bathroom renovation doesn't contain quite the same excitement that a kitchen remodel does, but when that half bathroom took three quarters of your life to remove the wallpaper it is definitely worth documenting. This little bath is right off the kitchen area and while I am not sure how much it will be used once our other bathrooms get a complete gutting and face lift, it's a nice little option for guests.

Here is what the bathroom started out as in her original state [a real beaut I know]...

And here she is as of thirty minutes ago.

Lets talk details for a minute and hash out everything that happened in this little bathroom. For starters, the wallpaper came down by yours truly. The tile was taken out, the walls were painted, the trim was painted, crown molding was hung, Shawn installed the bead board, I painted it all white, a new toilet was put in, a vanity [for less than $100 from Home Depot] was installed, new towel and toilet fixtures went up [from Menards], some new decor was hung, and wham bam thank you ma'm it's done. The wall color is Watery by Sherwin Williams, the mirror is from Wayfair, the light fixture is from Shades of Light, the rug and towels I just picked up at Target, and the wall decor was random stuff we had from the old house. I think that about covers it. Here are some additional photos of the place. Anybody is welcome to come use our facilities if you so desire ;)

  1. I love the way this space turned out! We are thinking of using the color watery in our house and I love being able to see it in an actual room! Can't wait to see the rest!

  5. LOVE LOVE LOVE - Ok, so we are moving into a house, temporarily, but it still needs some work for me to enjoy living there. We have some wall paper to tackle as well. Do you have any tips you can share on how you got rid of the wall paper (did you sand the wall after) or do you have some links to share on how you figured out what to do? Your house looks amazing Erin!

  13. That's so funny, I was looking at the pic thinking "that looks like our upstairs color!" We used SW glimmer in the bedrooms and watery in the common area/hallway between them. it's a great color - and I love everything about this re-do!

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
