Distilleries, Stray Dogs, and Blurry Casinos

Saturday turned out to be one of the better Saturdays I've had in awhile. For starters I got free chicken nuggets at Chick-fil-A which is actually somewhat of a funny story now that I mention it. You see, the other night I had went to a baseball game with some friends where it just so happens our tickets had free chicken sandwich coupons on them from Chick-fil-A. Being the nugget lover I am, I thought I would cross out the word sandwich and replace it with nuggets. To make it seem even more legit I had a friend initial the change because obviously, all coupon changes need employee initials. Needless to say, I presented my makeshift coupon, the cashier laughed, and then agreed to give me free nuggets instead of a sandwich.

Immediately following this event I dumped two entire sugar packets over my french fries thinking it was salt and then started to tell Shawn about how they must use a really sweet ketchup at this location.

Free Nuggets vs Sugar Infested Fries...I still say I won.

Back to the matter at hand--what made Saturday even greater than my stint of free nuggets, was our day/evening trip to a distillery, rooftop restaurant, and casino in the Michigan area to celebrate my friends 30th birthday. [side note: local peeps--hit up Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, then venture on over to The Stray Dog in New Buffalo, and then plant yourself at Four Winds Casino for the remainder of the evening]. The day went a little like this....

Started at the distillery where I tasted whiskey like a boss [aka one sip] and proceeded to delight in a frozen Moscow mule. They also had this incredible Fire & Ice drink which consisted of whiskey, habanero peppers, pineapple, and lime. It's all I can do to not think about it 24/7.

the birthday girl herself, miss chic [which reminds me, there are still some mediums left in Love, Yellow]

The next stop consisted of a cucumber martini and once again, the most delicious Moscow Mule. And oh my word, a burger topped with jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, and spicy mayo. HOLY BALLS IT WAS GOOD.

Last but not least, we stopped off at the casino where I won all sorts of money [okay $60] playing Roulette. Black for the win baby. Somewhere in there I chanted "Bankruptcy! Bankruptcy!" to a friend who was losing at Black Jack so I don't think he liked that too much.  I also attempted to take a few pictures of our time there but apparently my camera felt a lot like myself.

All in all it was such a great day and I am so thankful to have fun people in my life to share these little adventures with. Now if only I could make this an every Saturday type of thing...

  3. You can always use a coupon on a different menu item at Chick-fil-A (might have to be similar in price)! Also, their coupons never expire, so there's that. Unfortunately there's only one in Michigan and it's at Oakland. University, so I basically only eat there when I'm on vacation :( I'm excited to check out that distillery!

  5. Looks like a fantastic couple of days! I particularly loved the picture where the girls are at one end of the table and the boys at the other... That is exactly how the seating arrangements turn out when we go out in a large group of people too!

  15. How to restore a broken relationship and marriage

My name is Wendy Streeter from the United States of America and am here to share a testimony i would please want you to read careful. I was married for seventeen years until misfortune came in. My husband and i were living happily with our children and enjoyed the company of each other. Our eldest daughter eloped with her boyfriend and this cost my husband his job because he could no longer concentrate on his job and this almost tore our home apart. My husband lost his job and we were living on the little income i was making from my cabbage. This really tormented our home cos my husband loves her more than our other kids. I tried all i could do to make my husband happy even when i wasn't happy. This happened for sometime and he had cardiac arrest. We spent virtually all the money we had and still the condition did not improve. I was left with no choice than to sell the stuffs in our house, I was able to realise some money which was spent on his medical bills. I did this for a while until we had no money on us again. We came home and was hoping he could get better. He continued like that for some months and we decided to seek for solution else where. I went online where i met many self acclaimed doctors and spell casters but none could help. I then came across this particular caster whose testimonies i have read. His name is Dr.Brave he promised to help and he did in a way i find very surprising to explain. He told me that he would cast some spells to make my daughter come back and to get my husband his job back. It was like an impossible task. But with the help and intervention of this prophet of GOD, my daughter came back home and saw her dad was sick and she cried and asked for forgiveness. My husband after a week became whole again and another spell was cast to get him his job back. Like a dream it happened. My daughter is back home and my loving husband is well again and now has his job back. So good people of the world i want you to help me in saying a big thank you to Dr.Brave for his intervention. This is one Dr i will seriously recommend for anyone with issues of such nature or any other problem.
