The Best Margarita [Made With 100% Blue Agave Tequila]

May 7, 2014

By:

Well it should come as no surprise around here that I enjoy a great cocktail from time to time. As Summer approaches, my alcohol preference shifts from red wine to something light and refreshing. My three requirements for any good Summer cocktail is that it must be simple, light, and taste delicious. With Cinco De Mayo on Monday and the temps reaching the 80 degree mark today, this margarita recipe won out. My preference of Tequila is Jose Cuervo Tradicional as they were after all the inventor of the margarita, leading me to believe it’s only the best. I also learned this week [thanks to the video you can view below] is that the drink Margarita was named after a lady who went to a bar and was served a drink from a gentleman named Jose Cuervo. Who knew? Anyhow, here’s what you do to make this perfect concoction…
Ingredients:
Two Shots Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
One Shot Simple Syrup
Ice Cubes
Salt or Sugar for Rim
Directions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add in tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup.
Shake up until blended.
Rub slice of lime around the rim of the glass–dip in either salt or sugar.
Pour cocktail from shaker into glass.
Enjoy!
