The Best Margarita [Made With 100% Blue Agave Tequila]

Well it should come as no surprise around here that I enjoy a great cocktail from time to time. As Summer approaches, my alcohol preference shifts from red wine to something light and refreshing. My three requirements for any good Summer cocktail is that it must be simple, light, and taste delicious. With Cinco De Mayo on Monday and the temps reaching the 80 degree mark today, this margarita recipe won out. My preference of Tequila is Jose Cuervo Tradicional as they were after all the inventor of the margarita, leading me to believe it's only the best. I also learned this week [thanks to the video you can view below] is that the drink Margarita was named after a lady who went to a bar and was served a drink from a gentleman named Jose Cuervo. Who knew? Anyhow, here's what you do to make this perfect concoction...

Two Shots Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
One Shot Simple Syrup
Ice Cubes
Salt or Sugar for Rim

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add in tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup.
Shake up until blended.
Rub slice of lime around the rim of the glass--dip in either salt or sugar.
Pour cocktail from shaker into glass.

  1. wait wait wait wait ... you can put sugar on the rim instead of salt??? I feel like this could be life changing since I hate salted rims.

    1. It is against my religion to hate salted rims Juliette! BLASPHEMY I tell you!

  2. I can't do salt, so I'd definitely put sugar on the rim. YUM!

  3. Ohhh man! I need one of these. I had to work on Cinco de Mayo and I don't think the hospital would've appreciated me having a marg or two before work...so maybe I'll just celebrate Siete de Mayo?!

    1. YES!!! Weekend de Mayo, here I come!!! :0)

  4. Oh yeah, that sounds perfect right now!

  5. And now I know what I want for dinner... Margaritas do count as a dinner, right?

  6. Oh man, I would be honored if any brand of tequila wanted me to write a sponsored post :) Margaritas are 'da bomb :)

  7. Great Recipe!!

    xo, Taylor

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
