Indiana, You're Lookin Good.

For as many times as I have said how uncool Indiana is growing up, I've gotta give it up for this good ole state of mine. Not only do we have yards with grass, we have yards with water, cornfields, and any other thing that seems to be cool to take pictures of these days. We have the ability to do as little or as much as we want, so for weekends like this one it worked out pretty well. Saturday was spent on the water while Sunday was spent staying as far away as possible from water (including but not limited to showers). It's most definitely a slower lifestyle around these parts but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Because I was in anti-picture taking mode and more into enjoying what was in front of me (which was seriously one of the best sunsets on the water in all of history) I am sharing last weekends photos. Don't worry, you haven't seen these yet and to be fair--it looks the exact same as this past weekend. Fist pounds Indiana..just keep doin' your thing. But seriously. A Chipotle somewhere in a ten mile radius would be nice. K thanks bye.
I'd also like to thank all of the millionaires who have allowed me to drool over your homes for hours on end. You're making this part of town not look so bad either. Keep makin' that money, others of us are happy to watch you do it.

Speaking of making money--I have a way for you to do a little bit of that today. Well kinda. This is money to be spent at one of my favorites, J Crew. I have to admit though--the only J Crew I shop at is the outlet kind. Ain't nobody got time for full price items, well minus those homeowners above. I chose to partner in this giveaway because it is handful of women whom I have never worked with before in blogland and what's better than making new friends? Gift cards. Allow yourself...$300 here you come.

  2. Looks like you both had a great time! I haven't been on a boat in awhile. My bestest boat friend has a new love for horseback riding on the river and has been neglecting the boat.. total sadness!

  3. You know? I'm relatively new to life in the States (I've lived here for 7 1/2 years), and in the past 6 1/2 I lived in sleepy towns and cities in the middle of nowhere. Now I live in a 5 million people city and what wouldn't I give to go back to Podunk, Wyoming!? Yes, amenities are nice, but living a chill life is even nicer (that's why those richies built their houses where they did as opposed to NY ;))

    Love your blog!

    1. I second this - I grew up in Indy and dreamed of the day I could move far, far away. Now that I am far, far away I miss it. The midwest is definitely better from an adult's point of view. :D

  7. Hi Erin

I'm an Indiana chicky too! I'm not a born & raised Hoosier (I'm from FLORIDA) but I love this state enough to claim it as my own.

It's a beautiful state & I'm proud to say I live in Indiana!
I find myself comparing everywhere with Indiana now. The seasons are gorgeous!

  9. I grew up in Indiana and yearn for Indiana summers. There is nothing like them! I haven't been back yet this summer and am dreaming of it. Hopefully this fall :)

  12. Lovely pictures! I'm all about going places where fancy houses are present, then pretending like I'll ever be able to afford one at any point.

  15. Looks fun! Which lake were you at? Looks like Geist with all of the fancy houses. I grew up in Indy, but my parents live near Brookville Lake, now. I love the boat trips there in the summer.

    1. I was going to say the same, Geist. It has to be right? I can't think of any other area on water with houses like that. I grew up in Indy too, obvs ;)

  16. Yay for Indiana! I've stared at that house a billion times wondering what it will take for them to invite us in for dinner.

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
