Baby Mama In The House

Well it turns out that turning a year older means skipping a day or two of blogging. Something about waking up with what felt like a pinched nerve in my back and/or arm. This could have been a mental thing but I’m sure it was serious for the few minutes I felt it. This whole aging thing can suck it. On a serious note I do owe you all a giant thank you for all of your birthday wishes. You people sure know how to make a girl feel special and I am so grateful for this online community. I wish I could throw confetti all over every one of your heads as a thank you, but for now these words will have to do. So thank you.

The overall day was pretty good one indeed. Now, I’m not going to say that this brownie with cinnamon gelato was the best part of my day, but it totally was. I mean cinnamon gelato, c’mon.

This weekend we are headed to Indianapolis where we will be meeting up with my lady love from Nashville and her man for a fun filled weekend complete with Luke Bryan shakin his thing. And now I am confused if I am drooling from the picture above or the last sentence. Regardless I am stoked and can’t wait to get this party started. I’m going to go ahead and apologize in advance if I miss a few days next week of blogging too. Turns out three concerts are taking place between now and Wednesday. Concerts and blogging don’t necessarily coincide too well but I’ll do my best to show up. That is if Luke doesn’t decide to kidnap me which will most likely never definitely happen.

And now, I have a lady I want you to meet. And no this is not a sponsor. Here’s the deal. Every once in a great while I will sponsor a freaking fantastic blog (in this case it was little miss Whitney over at I Wore Yoga Pants..seriously a great blog to sponsor–readers are both plentiful and fiercely loyal) and you find yourself with a handful of new readers. Well I found myself this lady, I immediately fell in love with her hilarious comments she was leaving on my posts, and so I made my way over to her blog and left her a comment begging to write a post to share with my readers. It was that serious..I need you ladies and gents to meet this woman. And so here we go….

Hey y’all!

Yes, I said y’all.  I was born and raised in the South and I embrace other highly intelligent Southern words and phrases such as fiddledeedee, fixin’ to, dagumit, young’n, pocketbook, what in tarnation, and bless your heart.  I learned everything I know from the original Southern Belle, Scarlett.

Here’s a little back story on why I’m here, taking you away from the lovely and hilarious Erin.  She wrote a brilliant guest post on “I Wore Yoga Pants to Work” weeks ago.  It was truly love at first sentence for me.  I have finally found my blogging soul mate.  I immediately began to stalk her blog, flood her inbox with comments on all her posts, and follow her through every mode of Social Media I could find.

The great news is that I didn’t scare her off.  Nope, no restraining order was issued.  She embraced me.  Yep.  We’re definitely soul mates.

She even asked me to write this guest post 4 days after we found each other. Girlfriend moves a little fast, but when it’s right, you just know it!  I wasn’t excited or anything.  I just had a near anxiety attack from excitement and nervousness.  I’ve been thinking about what to write every single day.  I even developed a cool eye twitch from all the pressure.  Nah.  This guest posting on one of the coolest blogs of all times is totally old hat to me.

I decided to share my top 5 reasons for drinking Baby Mama Juice.  {BMJ is my code word for wine.  Since I drink a glass (or 2) every night, I told my Baby Girl at a very young age that it was Mama’s Juice so she wouldn’t go around telling everyone that her mom drinks wine all the time.  We don’t want everyone knowing my dirty little secret.}

If you’re still around and haven’t been bored to tears with all my ramblings, here are a select few of the bazillion reasons why I drink Baby Mama Juice:

1.  Because I’m famous and famous people drink.  I’m an actress on two TV shows.  I was on Siriux/XM Radio in an edible underwear eating contest.  Hoda Kotb and I are thick as thieves and go way back.  Kate Spade personally sent me a pair of shoes.  And Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married in my neighborhood.  I’m a pretty big deal.

2. Because I’m completely and utterly jealous of my 2 1/2 year old.  That hair.  That talent.  That grin.  Those dance moves.  Baby Girl is all that and a bag of chips!  She makes me crazy and over the moon happy all at the same time. My job as a stay-at-home-mom is the best and hardest job I’ve ever had (and I’ve had quite a few careers in my thirty something years).  I’m sure some of you mamas out there can relate.

3.  Because I’m blessed with many special talents, such as DIY fails, scooping poop out of the bathtub, making Holiday snacks for preschoolers, and crashing weddings.  It’s tough being good at so many things.  Don’t you agree?

4.  Because wine tastes real good.  Especially when it’s my favorite, Whispering Angel Rose.  It’s the best wine ever.  If anyone out there loves it as much as I do, move over Erin, I’ve replaced you with a new bestie!

5.  Because I got to write a guest post on “Living In Yellow” of course!  Best day ever (after my wedding day and the birth of my Baby Girl, of course)!

Thanks for letting me overshare new friends!  Any friend of my new bestie, Erin, is a friend of mine!  Visit me at my blog, Baby Mama Juice, and tell me why you drink BMJ!
