Give Me Sunshine Or Give Me Death (Please Just Sunshine)

I think it it safe to say that I am very ready for Spring.
This may have dawned on me after I spent the past hour basking in all warm weather, sunshine filled, short sleeve wearing, frozen yogurt related photos. It is days like these where I ask myself why I haven't straight uprooted myself directly over to St John. To live. Forever. All of these realizations could have something to do with the fact that I have been cooped up in my house for the past 24 hours battling some type of "blah-ness". It's a real sickness, believe me. I am just so ready for some Vitamin D darn it. The winter is not doing it for me anymore. I mean yes, I still have my Christmas decor up (it's true. judge away..I am starting to judge myself) and sure, the snow can be awfully pretty to look at but COME ON SPRING. Even my dog just sits and stares at me with that "are we EVER going to get to leave the house again!?" look. I have started to look at her back with tears in my eyes and just say "I know Maggie. I know.." and then quick hide my head under the blanket in hopes that when I wake up I will see green grass again. The only hobbies to fill my time right now are laundry and watching The Bachelor. Both of which I just can't bring myself to do. It's all Tierra's fault. Anyhow. I am writing this in hopes that the good Lord above reads my blog today and knocks my face off with some sweet sunshine and 75 degree temps soon. DID YOU HEAR THAT LORD?
SUNSHINE. WARMTH. GREEN GRASS. SUNDRESSES. HOT AIR BALLOONS. WINE ON THE PATIO. PEDICURES THAT MATTER. ICE CREAM. ICE CREAM. MORE ICE CREAM.

It's true. The Winter has made me lose my mind.

Anybody else out there feeling my pain?

I am off to bash my head into the cement in hopes that it will make it feel slightly better than it does now.
The Advil just isn't cutting it anymore.

ps. One thing that didn't cause me pain this week was being featured on The Browse yesterday. Also known as "the blogging society at it's best". If only I knew posting pictures of me wearing heels with socks would land me on there, I would've done it ages ago. Chalk that one up to another lesson learned.

  1. I am 100% with you on this sunshine biz. I had the good fortune to go to Florida a couple weeks ago and I was like, "Oh, this is what feeling ALIVE is like." Then back to winter and splat. Blah. I'll join you in prayer.

Hang in there :)sunny days are ahead.

  2. Ugh, I'm so ready for Spring too! The 50 Shades of Grey and -5 degree temps winter brings doesn't sit well with me. Give me 115 degree weather, BBQ's, and a straw hat any day!

  3. I am ready for spring too. Hell I will jump the gun and go right for SUMMER. This weather has put me in a horrible rut, worse than any other winter season. Not sure why I feel this one is worse, but either way...IT IS!

    BRING ON THE SUN!

  5. Don't hate me, but it's near 70 degrees here in Texas. I know, I'm a terrible person for saying that after such a lovely prayer to the Lord about bringing Spring a bit early this year ;-) I'm a new reader so I don't know where you're from (I even checked the About Me.. did I miss it?) but I'll ask big ol' Texas to share the love!! :-)

  9. Omg. Yes. That is EXACTLY what I blogged about today... Abi was sick last week... Too sick to be around people, too cold to go outside. I didn't leave the house for 9 days. NOT. OKAY. Thank God we got some warmer weather the past two days and could GET OUT... hope you get the Spring air soon!

  10. YES! Totally agree with everything! My vacation isn't until May and I am counting the days! The beach, the sun and a fruity drink sound wonderful! We are all in the prayer group together, praying for the sunshine to come out and play! Until then have a great rest of the week!

  11. Right there with you with wanting warm weather back. We had 60° today and I so badly wanted to go for a run! But ugh. Couldn't due to work. That's always the worst when that happens. As long as the snow stays away until next year, I'll be alright.

  12. ehhh.... I am still waiting for my good dumping of snow. But I'm in Maryland where we're getting baby dustings... so I can feel your pain from the midwest. Really, I can. You can have sunshiney days and send a snowstorm my way. Then, I'll meet you on the other side and we'll enjoy the sunny warmth of summer together! :)

  13. Yes, definitely feeling the same pain! And if by "St. John" you mean New Brunswick, then I'm feeling some very comparable pain ... about an hour upriver from you :o)

  15. I'm definitely ready for summer. Here in South Texas, we hit 80 degrees today so realistically? I probably could have laid out today. That said, our christmas lights are still on the porch so if you're judging ... feel free to judge me too! :)

  17. Do not cringe but its 70-75 here in Santa Barbara and sunny every day at the beach in front of my house! Maybe some good summer movies would cheer you up. Blue Crush 1 & 2, Soul Surfer,Chasing Mavericks are really good water movies.

  18. Oh it's the worst. It's completely changed my lifestyle. I love cooking and I don't even want to go to the grocery store because that means I have to walk outdoors (life with no car). I don't even mind sitting in the office all day because it's warm. I should probably get one of those lamps because I surely have a vitamin D deficiency. COME ON SPRING!

  20. Even an ol' Chicago girl like me is ready for spring. But while we Chicago people are used to winter - we don't like it. I'm ready to take my dog out for a walk!

  24. Um, I hate to rub it in, but in North Florida today, it's 70 degrees and sunny, and I'm wearing a sundress and sandals. Sooo, I'd say it's almost spring here for real! Ok maybe I did want to rub it in at least a *little* bit... :)
