If You Really Knew Me..(The Real Deal).

Sorry about yesterday’s breast milk//bread stick interruptions.
You never know when those two things are going to be interrupt blog life…

Anyhow—today I am back and ready to spill all.
Not that there is much to spill, I feel as though I’m pretty open on here
{a safe and good idea for the internet so I’ve heard..}
I figured there has to be SOME things I have yet to share, so why not do so now?
I want to make sure I have NO secrets with strangers.
Let’s begin this whole “If you really knew me” thing.
{Special thanks to this lady for creating this idea…without you, I’d have nothin’ today}

…On a typical day I have shoes on for less than an hour.
I believe in being barefoot as much as possible. Pretty much like a nomad. In fact, I will leave the house barefoot depending on my final destination (ie: friends houses, drive-thrus, etc) Hopefully someday I will proudly walk into public restrooms barefoot like miss Britney Spears. Because that seems clean and logical..

I am anxious way more than I am calm. However, I am very laid back. Find the logic there because I am still searching.

…I brush my hair once a day. And that is right after I blow dry it. I refuse to brush it any other time because I think it makes it go flat instantly. Tangles and hairspray chunks are always welcome on my head. Flatness and I don’t get along well. Which brings me to my next point...
{Me. With brushed hair--take a picture, it won't last long. Oh wait..}

…Bras. I don’t own one that actually fits. It might have something to do with the $20 spending limit I put on bras. Or maybe it’s because while I have that spending limit I usually stick to around $5. Best fitting bra you own? Tell me in the comments. I need your support. Pun intended.

…Spending money. While I do have limits on bras, I am not one to keep track of how much I am spending on a shopping trip. It’s not a great habit of mine, nor does it fare well with the husband. I figure if it fits, looks cute, and is less than $30, I can’t be spending THAT much…until I come home and realize I just bought 14 pieces of items that fit, were cute, and less than $30 each (hopefully).

…I did not attend college and do not regret it one ounce. While I do believe that college education is great, I don’t find it necessary for everybody. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. And that my friends, is a fact. Now if only I could meet some really powerful people…..

…I get hyper after I have meals. Always have, always will. I love eating and eating loves me. Hence why I feel the need to sing, dance, and shout after dinner.

…I am scared to death of sickness. For me, my family, my friends, my dog, etc.

...Stripes. Big or small, I love them all and wear them constantly.
Tank: Old Navy//Jeans: Forever 21//Shoes On Left: Crocs (LOVE)//Flats: Old Navy {similar}

…I prefer to be alone the majority of the time. Driving, shopping, relaxing….I like it all alone. I say all of this, but very rarely am I actually alone. I have a tendency to fill every waking hour with some type of activity so it seems. But those times that I do get to myself? Heaven I tell you. Pure Heaven.

And that’s that. I could probably list 1,232 more items but that might get a little long.

Maybe we’ll do this on another day when I have nothing else to blog about.

Expect more tomorrow ;)

Joke. I have really important things to talk about. Including but not limited to: Fall Outfits.

If that doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will.

Have a good one kids.

  4. I adore my alone time too. Hey, you and I could spend our alone time together ... wait. Or, we could go shopping together (because I obviously need some help with that and you would obviously bring food).

  6. Barefoot - me too. Totally respect not going to college - I went, Don't know that it helped a whole lot honestly and my bro didn't go because like you said - it isn't for everyone.

And being alone most of time - well wanting to, I'm right there with ya.I love any alone time I can get!

  7. Ok I was a bra cheap-O too. Until I went to Nordstrom and their wizards-of-boobs lady fitted my gazongas! And I mean found me the best bra ever!!!! Go now! Run and spend a little money. Your gazongas will be singing! :)

    Luv ya!!

  8. I am over VS bras. The quality is just not the same. The bras I just bought are already showing wear and I take care of my bras. I keep hearing good things about Soma bras. They are not cheap though.

  9. i have to say for a cheap decent bra, i always go to aerie..they are like $30, the fully-lined (but not padded) kind...not victoria secret-good, but also not $50, so it's a trade-off!

  10. Buck up for a good bra. Get fitted and shell out $50 - the girls will thank you. I'm a VS girl - probably bc I worked there 10 years ago and they brain washed me... but anywho... good bras are totally worth the $ - that being said... your $5 ones aren't too shabby - I've never looked at your pics and thought damn i need to take that girl bra shopping (I do have this thought about other people) true story. and in the words of forest gump... thats all i have to say about that

  11. I have the same problem about being anxious more than calm, but being super laid back. Please pass along the logic if you ever figure it out, and I will do the same...

  12. Omg I'm 'this lady'!! I've been reading you forever and now I feel like I'm having my own moment like you had when G mentioned your name on the restaurant episode of G & B! See? I knew we were destined to collide too...

    Xoxo

  13. I am SO glad you're talking about fall outfits!! I'm going on a girls' shopping trip this weekend and want to know a couple good "hot" items to snatch up!!

  14. I love being barefoot too. And that is why my feet often look like a cavemans. And I too am a very anxious yet laid back person. I never described it that way though...I always just call myself crazy. Thank you for making it sound much better.

  15. I'm not sure if you get this brand/these parties in America but Intimo Lingerie is AMAZING! In Australia they come to your house and do a party demonstration where you get to try on the bras!

I'm a tight ass with most things and DON'T pay full price for ANYTHING except bras.

I have boobs. I need that extra support as I don't want to encourage gravity any sooner then it will already affect me hahaha

  16. I loved this list! I totally relate to being laid back, but super anxious. Sort of how I'm living currently and I wish I could change that. Also about the spending. While I feel like I'm fairly good at attempting not to buy...things, I do find myself spending more than I'd like sometimes. Like yesterday when I went to Target [that store is impossible to NOT buy anything each visit] and bought some new clothes and ended up spending more than I would've liked. [But thank you to gift cards!!]

  17. holy crap I am obsessed with your blog.

  18. I own 4 VS 50.00 bras. I will never buy there again. I think I would rather buy a 5.00 bra then the Vs ones. That is all their bras are worth. I love alone time too. For some reason, I never get it! Loved your post! Love your wit!

  19. I go barefoot so often I've got foot problems that have caused shin splints- and when my fave bra was discontinued I quit wearing them for two years. Now I mostly wear cotton Hanes 2/$7 sports bras- but I do own some regular ones for when I want to feel like I have boobs.
And... I have that shower curtain. And I love it. Far more than anyone should EVER love a shower curtain.

  20. I too love me some stripes and alone time! Btw, as for bras goes...I tend to stick to the VS Pink line vs the actual line. VS PINK makes the wear everywhere push-up bra that is absolutely wonderful! And they're usually on sale 2 for $42! :)

  21. Let's get straight to business here - Bra's - I cannot help you there as I think I have only 1 bra that supports me properly! (my true friend)
Shopping - When in doubt don't buy! Well that's what I go with and that is also why I always walk out of the shop with only 1 item and regret it by the time I get home!
But love this post! Think I should line one up on my side if you don't mind?

    xxx

  25. I never brush my hair either, whoops! :-) And if I could go barefoot everyday, I would!

  26. im ashamed to admit that in middle school I wanted to wear a bra so badly that i once wore a bikini top to school under my shirt. It was patterened and showed through my light blue shirt. I thought I was wicked cool. And also, pre-bra, I taped the nips so they wouldn't show through my shirts if it was cold.

omg embarrassing bra memories. But like you, I dont think i wear the right bra size either. Good to know there are others out there!

love all the clothing you picked out and 30$ or less each? Ill take it!!

    happy tuesday!
    xoxo

  28. Funny - I was just talking about bras last night with a good friend. Why are good ones so hard to find?? And amen on the bare feet. I have calluses a mile thick but I don't even care. The boyfriend loves them though. (joke)

  29. Oh how I love these "If you really knew me..." posts! So fun! My best fitting bra? Well, I love Soma. Check 'em out online. Expensive, but they have good sales/clearances, and are excellent quality. Your barefoot comment made me laugh b/c my mominlaw just recently made it all the way to the airport for a 9 day trip before she realized that she had left the house with no shoes! Bahahaha! - And OH! You're a stripes girl! Kindred spirit moment. :-D About once a month, I tell myeself, "self, you should reaaaallly branch out from stripes, because one day you're not gonna like stripes anymore, and then you won't have anything to wear." But I usually get over it in a few hours. Ha! Happy Tuesday to ya!

  30. Is there any way that you can check the link for the crocs that you posted? I am dying for those shoes but when I click on the link, it goes to a different pair of shoes and I can't find them anywhere!
    Sincerely yours,
    I need those shoes!! :)

  32. I love being barefoot... I love being along (only child, here)....It's hard for me to spend money on bras too, however, the bigger the jugs, the bigger the price! ha!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am totally with you on the 14 items but each is only 20 bucks!! I fall into this trap all the time!! Therefore I have a closet full of cheap clothes that can't fit one more item. Oops :)

  34. I am so anxious but also laid back. It makes no damn sense! I'm easy going yet neurotic?? whaaa??

  39. hyper after meals? i wish i was like that.
i too am mostly anxious, and prefer to do things alone! I love the pic you included! looks so relaxing

  40. Bra talk. Reminds me of the good old blog conference when a few of the gals were exchanging their favorite bra designers and we were looking at each other like HUH? Other stores besides Target sell bras? Well you don't say...

    ReplyDelete
  41. New follower saying Hi. I am the same with no shoes, no college, the shopping and being alone (also never am!)

    ReplyDelete
  42. What a great idea!! You should make this into a link party like the "___ in ___" post! I'd definitely participate.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the anxious/laid back thing. I suffer from the same conundrum. That's actually why I'm pretty much a hermit. Haha. When I go shopping, I think in terms of that shirt costs half a tank of gas or if I buy all this it's what I made on Tuesday. I don't know why, but that keeps me in check ;) As for bras- I love Soma Intimates. Some of their bras are grandma, but some are the best bras I have ever owned and last forever. They have stores, websites, and catalogs!

    ReplyDelete
  44. reading this reminds me so much of why I like your blog- you and I have a lot in common.

I am always anxious- almost to a fault, especially even more so now that I have a child!

but anyway- RE: bras... I was actually going to write a post on this! Macy's is having a big sale on bras right now- and I wound up getting re-fitted (last year I was a 40D, this year a 36 C!- talk about boob shrinkage after baby) and I got the Warner's "this is not a bra" and I like it so far! the wires are soft and hidden and it has great support!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Everytime I go into Aerie and VS they always tell me a new size! It's really frustrating. I shop the sales at Aerie and get a pretty good deal. I can't spend $40+ on a bra... that's ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i say i love my alone time but then i feel too alone if i don't have people every hour or so. i also feel your pain with the anxious yet calm, crazy yet lead-back. hmmmmm....

    ReplyDelete
  47. Soma. They are only like $45 and they're great! And very comfortable, I recommend the "Traveler's Bra". :)

I read and appreciate every one of your comments. Thanks for stopping by my space and sharing a piece of yourself on this huge ole internet. I meant that in the least creepy way possible. I'm just good at making everything awkward. Anyhow, thank you for your comments. They make me smile :)
